Stopped here accidentally by taking a wrong turn. We were so pleasantly surprised..Inside was so homely. Staff exceeded our expectations. It was my husbands birthday, and they very kindly brought out a little chocolate brownie with a candle.. He was cut off, haha.. Homemade soup was the best we'd ever had! Other food was very well presented with fresh ingredients and tasted delicious. We can not wait to return, maybe for dinner and a few drinks.. Cheers guys

My wife & I both recently stopped at the Old Thatch Inn on the way up to a concert in Belfast for a meal and a few drinks, it is easily accessible just off the A6 dual carriageway at the Hillhead Road junction, the car park is extremely spacious & access to the building is very good, the staff where extremely friendly and made us both feel very welcome taking the time to talk to us and explain about the options on the menus, there is a good buzz about the place mixed with some local traditional themes including the late local poet Seamus Heaney & the long history of the building itself as a working inn since 1832, my wife ordered the pan fried chicken with creamy mash which she thought was absolutely delicious & I ordered the fillet steak with traditional chips, saute mushrooms and bushmills sauce, I have eaten a lot of steak from different restaurants across the country & beyond in my 50 years and I have to put this experience of steak eating up there as my best to date, the texture of the meat, how it was cooked how delicious the taste of the steak was and how all the sides complimented the meal so well, compliments to the Chef and the staff for an exceptional experience. We will definitely return in the future and we would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. 5 stars ***** LT NT

A Perfect Celebration at The Old Thatch Inn We recently visited The Old Thatch Inn for my daughter's confirmation, and I can't speak highly enough about our experience. There were 20 of us in total, and from start to finish, everything was flawless. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our group was well taken care of. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us all feel so welcome. The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Whether it was the Sunday roast or other dishes on the menu, everyone was impressed with the quality and flavors. It’s clear that the kitchen takes great pride in what they serve. If I could give The Old Thatch Inn 10 stars, I absolutely would. The entire experience was wonderful, and I’m so grateful to the Michaela and her team for making my daughter’s confirmation celebration so memorable. Highly recommend this pub for any occasion, big or small. We’ll definitely be back!
